Free VST plugins AnalogX Audio ArpeggiatorWith AnalogX Audio Arpeg you control whether or not a sound is being played, and create a rhythmic pattern with these mutes/unmutes. Unlike your normal MIDI arpeggiator, Audio Arpeg also allows you to control the volume level of each of the mute/unmute stages, which allows you to make much more subtle, and interesting patterns. Each channel can be delayed by up to 1 second and can have it's tempo set independently.

BallSequencer
Free VST plug-ins BallSequencerSequencer based around the idea of midinotes being generated by balls moving around inside a rectangular area. Notes are triggered whenever a ball collides with the boundary of the rectangle. You can set parameters that will control the movement of each ball, in addition to possible note and velocity values.

Midi gater
Free VST plug in Midi gaterMIDI Gater is a simple, handy, MIDI-controlled gate. When you play a MIDI note, audio turns on. When you release the note, audio turns off.
MIDI Gater is a little unusual, though, because it is 'polyphonic.' What that means is that a copy of the audio signal is created for every MIDI note, and the volume of each copy is sensitive to note velocity. The level of sensitivity is adjustable. The volume between notes is also adjustable, in case you don't want your audio signal turning off completely.

MidiTools
Free VST Filters MidiToolsSet of midi tools to help composition and music generation. These plugins register themselves as midi sources. With Cubase SX, the Midi tracks have to be set to monitor so that you can receive MIDI.
STOKASTIK : A MIDI plugin intended to generate random spaced notes according to a specified random distribution (now exponential only). You can set the maximum duration between 2 notes until 1 second but avoid values around 0 because it will overload your CPU. For now it is monophonic only and never stops outputting MIDI. In the future it should be polyphonic and act as a pseudo arpeggiator. Please give feedback if you find it useful or if you want me to add new features.
ENV2MIDI : This plugin analyses the incoming audio signal to extract its envelope which is converted into MIDI continuous controler. I should add parameters to change the size of the analysis window and the type of enveloppe detection.
MIDICCMAP : This could help people using plugins who doesn't support MIDI learn and/or hardware controlers that haven't presets. Only one controler can be mapped for now.

You can plug TapeIt into your VST host application at any point accepting VST plugins. Unlike most other plugins, TapeIt does not change the sound of your audio. But, while copying the sound unaltered from input to output, TapeIt writes it to a standard WAV file. This way you can grab any audio signal that appears at one of the plugin-points of your audio application.
