Kmplayer Vst Plugins

Messages in this thread

One of the best free VST plugins for budding EDM, hip hop and trance producers, Acoustica Nightlife comes loaded with beat–synced arpeggiated patterns and bone-rattling basses. Not to mention, it also boasts plenty of evocative preset patches for those who don’t like to fiddle around. 17) Brain Control Tunefish 4.

Wavosaur VST Speak. Searching for the best vocal VST? Well the Wavosaur VST Speak might not be the best, but it’s certainly the most interesting. This spell-and-speak plugin reads back anything you type into it. All in a tweakable voice capable of some pretty strange sounds. So put it in your DAW and say hello to VST Speak. Then make it say. KMPlayer needs KDE4 and a working mplayer/mencoder somewhere in you PATH. Additonally, for broadcasting, ffserver/ffmpeg/v4lctl also. For DVD navigation Xine is used. MPlayer has broken dvdnav support. DVDNav is included in libxine and works fine. Unless you reconfigure kmplayer, both mplayer and ffmpeg should be compiled with liblame for mp3.

Sib. 7.1: Sibelius Player not detected
Posted by Erin W. - 20 Oct 10:20PM
Hi all, I'm having a lot of trouble with the playback configuration in Sibelius. I wanted to add the Kontakt 5 Player device to Sibelius, so I installed the VSTPlugins for Kontakt into the VSTPlugin folders that Sibelius uses. When I opened Sibelius, the Kontakt player was not listed on the available devices list, so I went to the Audio Engine options to see if I could configure it. I noticed that it said 'If you have added or removed virtual instruments or effects, click Rescan to check the folder next time Sibelius runs (requires restart of Sibelius)' I hit Rescan and restarted the program, and now the program does not detect the Sibelius Player device (it's not listed under available or active devices), and I get no sound out of the program. The only playback device the program has listed is 'Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth.' Also, none of the buttons in the Audio Engine Options dialogue are responsive. I have absolutely no idea what to do now. Any help is majorly appriciated.
Thanks,
--Erin

1. Make sure that you have updated to the latest version of Sibelius 7.1.3.
2. In 'Audio Engine Options', make sure that 'Use virtual instruments and effects' is checked, and restart Sibelius.
3. Make sure that the VST DLLs you have added match the architecture of Sibelius. If you are running 32-bit Sibelius, use 32-bit versions of the VST plugins. If you are running 64-bit Sibelius, use 64-bit versions of the VST plugins.
4. After the above, for any further help, please attach screen-shots of the 'Playback Devices' and 'Audio Engine Options' windows.

Thank you! Checking the 'use virtual instruments and effects' did the trick (Plus I needed to update to 7.1.3 anyway). I really appriciate your help! -Erin

And the above is what worked for me after a day of trying to figure out why the heck all of a sudden K2player was no longer in my device list. I'm not happy about the way Sib.7 has handled this 64/32bit thing - or maybe I should be unhappy with Win.7. It's very confusing to know exactly WHAT version I'm in. Nothing shows on the splash screen; (32/64) the application has one file name that says 32bit and another that has nothing - but what if you launch Sib. from a file (rather than launch then open a file) then what is opened? This has been a constant problem for me since Sib.7 came out with these two confusing choices - all of a sudden my MIDI keyboard isn't working? Why? Oh, I'm in 32bit and should be in 64bit, or the other way around - and also, the K2P is showing up in 32bit but I'm on Win.7 - so even though (thanks to Robin Walker) I now know where the breakdown occured, it's actually the wrong choice. K2P should show up in 64bit, not 32bit since I'm on a 65bit maching. This product is advertised to 'spend time composing not figuring out software' but that is often just not the case. I said I'm not very happy about it right? Good. I'm not.
I AM very happy for Robin Walker helping me solve this problem.
Thanks Robin for the answer..

Kontakt 2 Player is an old version of a VST which was only made in a 32-bit version. So, even though you are on a 64-bit operating system, you are obliged to run the 32-bit version of Sibelius to use Kontakt 2 Player.
Kontakt 5 is available in a 64-bit version should you want to use Kontakt in Sibelius 64-bit. Kontakt 5 is a free download which functions in 'Player-only' mode (unless you pay for the full Kontakt licence).

No matter what your skill level is, there is a way for you to make your own audio plugin.

In this article, I’ll be sharing multiple ways for you to start developing your own audio plugins in no time.

Ways to make a VST plugin:

Kmplayer Vst Plugins

Drag-And-Drop Plugin Makers

A plugin maker will take all, if not most, of the coding out of making an audio plugin. Synth makers are especially useful for prototyping.

Coding
Coding a plugin will involve downloading a special sdk for VST development. This is how all the big names in the audio plugin industry make their plugins.

If you want to learn how to develop any type of effect imaginable, I highly recommend this book. It teaches you how to develop plugins in C++ and comes with A TON of example code for professional plugins. It is written very well and makes a huge effort to stand out from the other programming books.

I believe the book is well worth the price. It’s the only resource you’ll ever need to learn how to code plugins.

You don’t even need a full understanding of c++! This book starts at the very beginning and works it’s way up to more advanced material. I’d rate this book a 10/10 any day!

At least give it a look and read some of it’s reviews. It is an extremely helpful resource.

If you are leaning more towards creating software instruments, this book might be more your speed.

It is by the exact same author, Will Pirkle, and offers a ton of great information for you to get started.

Synth Makers/Prototypers:

1. SynthEdit

This has to be the most well known program for creating audio plugins on the fly. It is a lot more simple to jump into than writing code and is very understandable.

Plug-ins

Keep in mind there is no mac version.

You can export plugins so they run on mac just not use the SynthEdit program.

2. Flowstone

Flowstone was Formerly known as Synth Maker. Flowstone allows you to create a virtual synth visually and then add code to create more advanced plugins. What stands out with this plugin is the design and intuitiveness. There are many features to this software including the ability to “connect to the outside world”. That means that you can connect to external hardware including any usb device.

3. Reaktor 5

Kmplayer Vst Plugins Plugin

Reactor is an audio plugin that allows you to make audio plugins. Reaktor is almost like a giant plugin library within a plugin. Many producers use this as an easier way to publish quality synths instead of having to learn how to program synths all buy themselves.

Programming

Programming a synth, or plugin, will most likely be a very steep learning curve if you have never programmed before.

There are many different ways to code plugins. I will be sharing 4 different ways to get started.

The most popular way to code is with C++. Most plugins nowadays are coded that way.

Coding Plugins:

1. Using C++ and Visual studio

C++ is a language a lot of people choose to learn. It is used in most commercial software. It can be a bit tricky to learn so make sure you get the basics down before you try building a VST plugin with it.

2. Using Java:

I love Java because it is fairly simple to get into. Maybe it is just me, but when I started learning Java, it felt easier and more natural than other programming Languages.

3. Using Ruby:

I have never used ruby, but I heard it was a really simplified programming language. I found out that there is an add-on for Ruby called Opaz-Plugdk. It allows the creation of vst plugins in Ruby. I couldn’t find too much info on this, but I’m sure if you dig deep enough you could find some helpful sites.

4. Using C++ in Xcode:

Free Audio Plugins Vst

This or Java is the way to go if you are on a mac. The information I found was once again from teragonaudio. They seem to have a lot of good info on plugin development, so defiantly check them out.
